A beauty queen has been left in shock after officials stripped her of her crown after she had won, over an offence.
Dailymail reports that Miss Florida 2017 was dethroned after pageant officials discovered that she had broken the rules by using professional stylists to help with her hair and makeup.
Genesis Davila held the Miss Florida USA 2017 title for just a week.
The 24-year-old was stripped of her crown after Grant Gravitt, executive producer of the Miss Florida USA Pageant told Local 10 News that she violated pageant regulations.
Davila competed with 64 other women last on July 16 for the tiara that she won’t be wearing any longer. Gravitt told the station that the Puerto Rican model ‘sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that’s just not.

‘We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules. Whether it’s something major or minor, it’s all about keeping an equal and level playing field.’
Gravitt said Davila made a ‘poor life choice’ when she decided to use professional stylists to help her with hair and makeup in her private room. The Miss Miami Beach USA model posted on Instagram: ‘DREAMING on a cloud,’ shortly after she won the crown.
Pageant organizers received complaints from contestants and there were also eyewitnesses, Gravitt told 10 News. Gravitt said they were able to obtain ‘substantial proof to link her and her vendors to her room on an evening which they were not allowed’.
The model’s social media accounts also contributed to Gravitt’s decision.
Miss Sunny Isles Beach USA, Linette De Los Santos, who was the runner-up, will now wear the Miss Florida crown. De Los Santos was born in the Dominican Republic and she’s also a student at Nova Southeastern University law school.
