All is now set for the Leadership Summit put together by National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.The event,  slated for Thursday, 11th August  2016 at the university Amphitheatre, with''Theme: Courage to stand is aimed at sensitizing  students leaders on the need to vigorously pursue without compromising,  interest and welfare of the Students they represent, without falling prey to financial or treacherous inducement usually employed by management during a particular struggle.

According to one of the organizers of the event, and NANS Leader in RSUST, Comr.Nwala Chietam Thierry , the program was been put together, as part of measures to sanitize,redirect and refocused students leaders on the need to stand firm, no matter the intimidation from either internal or external forces.. He said, the summit was necessary, given the dwindling nature of the Aluta struggle among students.

Meanwhile, the President Elect of the Students Union Government of RSUST, Comr.Daminabo Alali Daniel (GCAF) has urged students of the institution to take advantage of the upcoming NANS LEADERSHIP summit to improve and sharpen their leadership skill.
According to him, the Nigerian state is in dare need of apt leadership, as such, students and indeed youths must maximize any such opportunity to continuously learn the principles to lead.
He therefore urged them to attend, despite the holiday while promising to mobilize students for the said summit.

The Leadership Summit which has Prof. Blessing Didia, the Vice Chancellor of the university as Special guest of honour  will feature,  Training, Award Presentation, Issuance of Certificate of Participation, the Launching of the NANS EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHEME, among others.

Those expected in attendance include, Comr.Chika Onuegbu, who will be the Key note Speaker.

Others speakers include, Dr.Isaac Zeb.Obipi,Segun Owolabi, Kofi Bartels, Prince Miaphen (NANS CHAIRMAN), the Leadership of NANS Zone B, past and present Students leaders within and outside  Rivers state.
