The inaugural Lecture held yesterday 27th jan., 2015 at the Faculty law auditorium titled ‘English and
comparative studies’ which was presented by Professor Chioma Opara.
The lecture attracted many writers from different universities. Dean of faculties, IFS members and the Vice chancellor in the person of Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia.
Chioma opara is a professor in English language who has been consistent in delivering classroom lectures to her students and encouraged them to speak good English both on and outside campus.

Her daughter miss Opara Uchechi  who spoke with Gistmeust representatives said she was proud having such a woman as a mother and thanked God for His grace upon the life of his family.
Other IFS members called her mentor and ‘the mother of English language’

In our interview with our prolific professor, she cited that the major problem with students as regards the language in the influence of the local Pidgin English and also unseriousness when it comes to studies. She said he greatest secret that has taken her to such great heights is her love for what she does being that she had a chance to study chemistry but she declined it. ‘Students should take the dictionary as their second bible’ she said.

If you think you know English then try Chioma Opara’s English exam then you will know you have not learnt English.
