Prof. Pepple Reacts to security issues on campus

We all know that campus is no longer safe these days as students are afraid of going for night classes. It is a slap in our face as we are not even safe during morning classes as we may just be attacked by these men of the underworld. We can recall the incident that occurred at the TET FUND building (Biology building).

These things usually happened in engineering faculty but the story now is different as faculty of Science is at a red alert.

Prof. Pepple who is the dean of faculty of Science expressed how disappointed and grieved he was during a meeting he had with his students titled ‘A CHAT WITH MY DEAN’. In his speech he said ‘the current situation is a touching one and very necessary to attend to it. He recounted the TET FUND incident and said he was disappointed by students relentless in such issues. Students should be brave, even these thieves are afraid- he said’. He said he has spoken with the DSA- Dr. Zeb Isaac Opibi who promised he was working hard on the students’ security. He indulged everything to work with the school security to make sure everything is in order and also they should be security conscious. He also addressed the issue of using classrooms as worship centers and warned the students not to engage in such act as it is prohibited by the faculty. ‘The classrooms were dedicated for learning and not worship’.

In his statement he stressed the issue of hawking around the faculty and urged the students to desist from patronising the hawkers. Any student found guilty of such act will be dealt with accordingly.

Dr. Obunwo Head of department, Chemistry stressed the Minimum CGPA required for every students of the University.
