Our people say that once a man is bitten, he becomes twice shy. However there is that stubborn fly which will always choose to follow the corpse into eternal damnation.
You will recall that sometime last year, John Jonathan News Agency, carried the news of the suspension of Mr.
Wealth Gospel, the Student Union President of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, on account
of gross misappropriation of fund meant for the refurbishing of the Aluta Bus.
This incident was a breach of public trust on first assignment.
After much plea from different angles and intervention by
the School management, the Executive Council who
suspended him mercifully lifted the suspension with the
hope that the young man will turn a new leaf. But as
they say, it is difficult for a leopard to change its skin
colour.
The latest is that the young man has been suspended
again, not just by the Executive Council, but with the
endorsement and full blessing of the school
management Headed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof.
Blessing Didia .
The suspension is indefinitely and obviously final.
The reason for the exercise of this ultimate measure for
the second time is not far fetched.
After a thorough investigation, the Chief Security Officer
of the School, Mr. Omu have made some findings
seriously indicating the President. Upon these findings,
he made a security report on this note to the school
Management / Students Union Government.
The details of the report was hinged on four strong
pillars namely ;
1) Association with cultists
2) Housing Cultists in the Presidential Lounge of the
Students Union
3) Handing Over the Aluta Bus to the said Cultists who
put it to various vile use
4) Giving the said cultists the power to intimidate and
collect rents from tenants of SUG facilities.
These grounds, we were reliably informed, formed the
reasons for his suspension for the second time.
The once Vice-President, Comr. Faith Barigboto now acts as the President of the Union. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Didia warned the suspended President and his cohorts
against any attempt on the life or safety of the Acting
President or any executive. He vowed to shut down the
school to apprehend any person who will dare harm any of them.
The Union Government, in the effort to further bring the
students abreast with the trend have called for a
Congress which is to hold on Wednesday 2nd of March,
2016 by 12 noon. Hostel D open space is the Congress
Venue.
