It was quite an unfortunate incident this morning as the spirit of matric was at work. Early this morning at about 8:15am, one of the female hostels (PG block 1) was ablaze. Investigation into the incident revealed that the fire was as a result of kerosene cooking stove. The incident attracted the presence of Dean of student affairs, SUG president who quickly put the situation under control.
The incident is not new as there has been one or two of its kind in recent time past. A prominent incident about three years which also involved the female hostel (Hostel A) which was completely burnt down. The acme of the incident was the Matriculation gown that was burnt obviously ruining the occasion for the celebrant. We pray this be the last of such event.
