Please Read before you drop your vote:
The CONS of Delegate Election:
How can we allow 140 persons vote on behalf of 15,330 students?
For how long can we continue to fold our arms and allow people who do not merit these positions emerge as winners all because they have the connection?
Least we forget, may i remind you that each year delegates and aspirants are being kidnapped and beaten by their fellow aspirants which is unlawful.
The CONS of E-Election:
May i remind us once again that the Electronic Processing agents(EPA) have about 95% of students' data - including usernames and passwords. I bring to your notice that they are now jumping and praying because their time to make money has come.
The e-voting maybe hijacked by the school management or the ICT.
The day of the election may come and we all may think we have voted, the school management may have told the ICT who the president will be, the ICT has no choice than to obey.
Recall that the EPA agents have about 95% of students e-campus details (which may either be 12345 - 67890).
All these are contrary to the delegate election as it is more credible than the e-voting.
We all may be filled with the spirit of "I want to Vote" but let's consider that our Nigerian system of governance is corrupt.
What you need to know about the e-voting election and delegate election HERE
Read DSA's comment on the e-voting system HERE
From the office of the DSA
We have always practiced the delegate method of election, this is a situation where 140 persons represent the entire students' Community. We thought it wise that every student's voice should be heard.
The e-voting is a straight forward process, it should not be difficult for students to make use of it. All they need to do is sign into their portal, click on SERM, click election, select the election, select the position they intend to vote for one by one and vote.
For the e-voting to be fully implemented there has to be an election ( Delegate election VS e-voting election ). You have to tell us which you prefer, the normal Delegate election or the General election by e-voting.NOTE: Please drop your comments in the comment-box below for mobile users.

this Gist me ust people. They are allowing school management use them because of small money. They want to sell their conscience for favour. That is why they put out banner everywhere in the school trying to sell the E voting idea. We the Students of ust are bigger than then, as if they will hide in this same ust. Please tell your management that the students wants delegate election or better still ballot Congress election. Don't assist management in robbing the Students.
DeleteDelegate. Department by department
ReplyDeleteDelegate Election! As for the 'e' idea, I think it needs to be testrun at the department and faculty levels before making it a mainstream University concept. Generally, the e thing is novel but impromptu!
ReplyDeleteDelegate all the way! This e-voting thing is so not good.... Even the federal government has not done it... Then ust wants to do it..... It'll cost money... And plus... Will the school authority on 4g Hotspot for us that day?
