A MANIFESTO DELIVERED BY OJUKWU, STEPHEN SUNDAY ASPIRING FOR THE POST OF GENERAL SECRETARY OF THE STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT, RSUST CHAPTER
The capacity of a man is not determined by his/her status or size but by the intelligent acumen embedded in him/her. I am OJUKWU, STEPHEN SUNDAY, 300 level law student of this great institution, aspiring to serve you as the GENERAL SECRETARY at the level of the Students Union Government.

Service to humanity they say is the best work of life. I have since my childhood days been saddled with responsibilities of serving humanities in numerous capacity and portfolio, social, Religion and Academics. I am here to serve the student community and not to lead. If I am elected as the General Secretary, I shall ensure that the provisions of the constitutions are enforced, in addition to the constitutional duties, my specific objectives are;
1.    EASY ACCESSIBILITY:  It is very crystal clear that one of the major reasons for failure in government is the bridge in communication between the leaders and the followers, it is on this note I plan to generate an open and closer relationship with all students in the sense that the Union will be more students-friendly, we will be holding a conference every semester tagged “have your say conference” this conference wills serve as hub of idea where students will be free to contribute their opinions with regards to what is happening inside and out the Students Union and also a suggestion box will be made available in the SUG parliament to hear out the views of students. Together with your trust, we will achieve this.

2.    TRANSFORMATION ACTIVITIES: I plan on carrying out certain oversight functions in collaboration with member of the executive council. I plan on making the social life of our students in conjunction with the office of the Director of Socials very much complementing with their academic life by organizing talent hunt which will serve as a platform for exhibition, skills, talent and area of gifting will be shown.

3.    WELFARE OF STUDENTS (Rendering assistance to downtrodden students): I shall work hard to bring information which is a step towards success to the doorstep of our students in order to provide more guidance assistance to downtrodden students experiencing personal, professional, and academic difficulties. One of the ways of achieving this is through sponsoring a bill in collaboration with the president that will affect the life of the physically challenged, the bill will ensure that transport fare of this set of persons(physically challenged students) are made free and feeding cost for them will be reduced to the best minimum of #200 per plate.

Among others are;
    Academic Talks
    Effectively broadcast news and event to students via facebook and word of mouth
    Create and update a mailing list for effective communication
    On-line reporting of congress minutes
    Be enthusiastic about every new idea and opportunity and try to spread within the society
    Be available to answer queries at anytime.
All of these can be achieved with your unalloyed support. I believe in “Greater together, We Can Make it”. SYNERGY is the key, OJUKWU, STEPHEN SUNDAY is the messenger.
