Rivers State University, RSUST Holds her 34th Annual Matriculation for the freshly admitted students in the 2015/2016 academic session. Matriculation is a thing of joy as the students were officially welcomed to the school by the Vice chancelor, SUG President, the senate, Deans of Faculties and their senior colleagues. Parents and guardians could be seen in very colourful attairs and the atmosphere was in an obvious euphoria of Celebration, this am sure is unconnected with the sense of freedom that this occasion signifies, i mean freedom from the rigorous process of gaining admission in Nigeria and this is something we could all relate to from WAEC to JAMB to POSTUME  then wait for First list, Second list, Supplementary list. It is really FREEDOM AT LAST!!! for the celebrants an their families.

In an interview with the SUG president anchored by GISTMEUST, the President, Cmr. Wealth said he was very pleased with the organisation of the entire ceremony and advised the students to take their studies seriously so as to attain academic excellence. He also hinted about an official year one Party by the Student Union Government coming up soon.

The VC, in the person of Professor Blessing Didia Chimezie welcomed the students and adviced them to attain academic excellence so as to give their loved ones who came to celebrate with them another opportunity to witness their convocation. In his statement he said after their years of study a certificate would be issued to them in Character and in learning so they should represent the school both in academics and character inside and outside campus.

He said there is no excuse for failure so they should work hard to attain EXCELLENCE.
