In a statement issued on Sunday by Fabian Benjamin, spokesman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), board has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for admission earlier sent to the tertiary institutions. 
 The examination body explained that the decision was to ensure that the Senate of Universities perform their statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, at the policy committee meeting. 
 The statement read; “This is to ensure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting. “The earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission. “Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions. “The board regrets any inconvenience it’s proactive step would have caused the tertiary institutions.”

The Parents Teachers Association of the Nigerian-Turkish International Colleges (NTIC), has called on the Nigerian Government to disregard any request for the closure of the schools in the country. The parents, who made the call on Saturday in Abuja at meeting, said the accusation that the schools were a training ground for terrorist was baseless and unsustainable. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Turkish Government recently asked the Nigerian Government to close down all the Nigerian-Turkish International Colleges (NTIC) in the country. According to the Turkish Government, the Nigerian-Turkish International Colleges belonged to Fetullah Gulen, accused of sponsoring the July 15 failed military coup in that country. The country’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Hakan Cakil, said this while hosting the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Shehu Sani of the APC, who represents Kaduna Central in the house. Mr. Cakil alleged that the schools belonged to Gulen`s movement, a cult of personality that runs a secretive transitional network aiming to overthrow the Turkish government. “The accusation is baseless and a slight on us parents and the Nigerian Government,” Hauwa Abubakar, a parent, who has three children in the school, said. She maintained that the parents know the operators of the schools to their homes and families, adding that they could not have been involved in such practices. Sani Balogun, Vice Chairperson NTIC primary, added that there was something unique in the school and called on the Federal Government to react to the Ambassador`s call. Shehu Abudulahi, also a parent, however, said that if the school was doing anything wrong, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should investigate. He urged parents not to be too emotional about the call made by the Ambassador to the extent of dropping names. He stressed that there was, however, a need to carry along all the 17 NTIC in the country in the fight to ensure that the schools were not closed. Mr. Abudulahi, a professor, added that the schools were playing very significant role in the development of education in Nigeria and should not be closed unless it was found wanting and culpable. He said that the school was one of the most secured in the country, adding that even in the hit of Boko Haram activities in the North east, it remained open in Yobe. He further added that so long as the NTIC had operated within the laws of Nigeria, it should be allowed to remain in operation. He, therefore, urged the parents to remain resolute in their struggle to ensure that the institutions were not closed. He also urged the operators of the school to continue preparing for the new school year, saying “there is no shaking.’’ Awulu Awulu, first Education Secretary of the FCT also a parent at the meeting, appreciated the NTIC management, and urged parents to stand by the school in its trying period. According to him, the call by the Turkish Ambassador for the closure of the NTIC was targeted at parents and not the institution. He, however, advised that regardless the anger in the parents, they should follow due process in their struggle. The parents at the meeting were unanimous in saying that they would stand by the NTIC to the end to ensure that it was not closed down as requested by the Ambassador. The NTIC had been operating in the country in the past 18 years. Some of its old students at the meeting said they would join their parents in backing the institution

These guidelines for successful completion of Six month industrial training are to facilitate in effective and uniform regulation of training being carried out by Undergraduate students in 8th semester. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering department will designate one faculty member as the Assistant Training and Placement officer (ATPO) who will get all the training 
Arranged with the help of Training and Placement Cell of the college and will keep All records. All Students will contact the Concerned ATPO for any query or 
Information. 
 
Training Monitoring: 
 
Six month industrial training will be monitored by the ATPO (ECE) with 
Consultation of the TPO. This monitoring activity will be spread over one semester 
i.e. 8th semester. 
 
 Award of Sectionals (TA): 
 
The evaluation of the training will be based on the report submitted by the 
ATPO after the mid semester evaluation and interaction with the supervisor of the 
Student in the industry. 
 
Point to Remember during training: 
• All students are advised to be sincere, honest and punctual during the training period. 
• They should be polite and cooperative at the training place. 
• Any complaint if reported will seriously deal with. 
• All students are to ensure that their confirmation letters have been received at TPO office. If someone’s confirmation letter has not been sent that they should ask their supervisor to do the needful. 
• All students will have to submit the synopsis and objectives of the training within the first month of their training. 
• At the end of the industrial training the Supervisor (from concerned industry) is to submit the evaluation report in the sealed envelop to the TPO, SSSETC, Gurdaspur immediately. 
• All students to ensure that their daily diary is properly signed by their supervisor before submission to the college for final evaluation. 
• The six month training report should be submitted in the proper format already specified. 
• All Students should come prepared with the power-point presentation regarding their industrial training (Based on CHAPTER I to V in the training report submitted). Which will be most probably in of April/May All Students will be asked to submit the power-point presentation on a CD along with the one hard bond copies of training report on the day of external viva presentation. 
• The External Evaluation/viva-voce by external examiner will be held April/may, and the exact date will be intimated separately on the day of 1st presentation after completion of training. 
• No report will be accepted if not submitted in the specified format. 
Hence all students on training are advised to strictly follow the specified format given below. 
• All students should complete their training reports and presentations in the specified format for  mid term viva and final report.

Numbering of Chapters, Sections and Sub-sections: 
The numbering of Chapters, division and sub-divisions should be done using Arabic 
numerals only and further decimal notation should be used for numbering the divisions and 
subdivisions within a chapter. For examples sub-division 4 under division 3 belonging to 
chapter 2 should be numbered as 2.3.4. 
 
 
 
 
 
Numbering of Equations: 
 Equations appearing in each Chapter should be numbered serially, the numbering 
Commencing fresh for each Chapter or Appendix. For example, an equation appearing in 
Chapter 2, if it happens to be the eighth equation in that Chapter 2 should be numbered (2.8). 
While referring this equation in the body of the report it should be referred to as Equation 
(2.8). 
 
 List of References: 
Any work of other researchers, if used either directly or indirectly, the origin of the 
material thus referred to at appropriate places in the report should be indicated. The citation 
may assume any of the standard form (preferably IEEE, or other international Journal 
Publishers such as Elsevier, Kluwer, Pergamum etc.).

The dimensions of the final bound 2 copies report should be Standard A4 size 
(297mm x 210mm) paper may be used for preparing the copies. The Training Report (at the

Left and right side: 32 mm (1.25 inches & 1 inch) 
 
Page Numbering: 
All pages numbers should be typed at the center of page bottom. The preliminary

And figures, Notations, Abbreviations etc.) Should be numbered in lower case Roman 
Numerals. 
 
Size of Report: 
The size of report should not exceed 80 Pages of typed matter reckoned from the First page of Chapter 1 to the last page of the Appendix.

Report submitted (1 copies) should be bound in Black color hard binding with golden words.

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a Senior Secondary School, SS 2 student, Christian Donatus, aka Inyang, believed to be the leader of a robbery gang. Donatus, a student of Eastern Secondary School, Ediba, Calabar, the state capital, had allegedly led his syndicate to raid a shop, Value Mart, owned by the former First Lady of the state, Obioma Imoke, two weeks ago. The suspect was paraded alongside one of his accomplices, Ubong Bassey Essien, on Wednesday before newsmen at the Command’s headquarters. Parading the 19-year-old man, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ms. Irene Ugbo, said the suspect who hails from Akokwa, Imo State, had been terrorizing various parts of the city, raiding homes, shops and commuters and dispossessing them of their valuables. She said, “The gang shot a medical doctor at Akim Qua three weeks ago and also carted away safes at a shop along Marian Road, containing large sums of money. “The suspect and one of his members were arrested on July 16 by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. “Efforts have been intensified to track down four other members of the gang who are on the run and we hope that very soon they will be arrested and brought to book. “These ones in our custody will soon appear in court,” the PPRO added.
