NURSS ELECTION: Qualifications For Election into The Executive Council/Parliament

NATIONAL UNION OF RIVERS STATE STUDENTS (NURSS)
RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CHAPTER.
ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTION INTO THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/PARLIMENT
1. Every registered member of NURSS RSUST CHAPTER shall be eligible to be delegated to vote and/or nominated to be voted for in an election into any of the posts specified in this constitution; provided.
a) HE is not a final year or first year student as at the date of the election.
b) He is not disqualified by any provision of this constitution.
c) He has not been expelled or suspended by any University authorities for any offence EXCEPT STUDENT UNION ACTIVITIES, prior to this election in RSUST or any other institution of higher learning.
d) He is not a member of any nocturnal or secret society or any association that is not duly registered or recognized by the institution.
e) Any aspiring candidate for any elective office in NURSS RSUST Chapter must have a C.G.P.A. of not less than 3.00
2. The NURSS Identity Card, NURSS Receipt, L.GA. Identification Letter, and School Identity Card shall be used in voting in any election into the Executive Council.
3. Voting shall be by open secret ballot.
4. Election shall be by delegates drawn from each of the seven blocs forwarded by the Bloc Heads to the Electoral Committee.
5. Delegates to vote in every election from each bloc shall be at least ten (10) who duly registered members of NURSS RSUST Chapter are.
