Oh dear! Following the alleged refusal of the Federal Government to keep to its agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, the body has now stated that it will embark on a nationwide strike from August 22.
Mr Usman Dutse, ASUP President, disclosed this today at the end of the Zone A emergency meeting of the union held in Kaduna State.
He said the union will commence the industrial action, if the Federal Government fails to honour the agreement it reached with it in 2013.
He noted that, since the suspension of the protracted strike in 2014, the government has refused to address some of the core issues that necessitated the strike. He however says there is still room for them to address it before August 22nd, hence the strike takes place.
