Candidates offered provisional admission are required to adopt the following guidelines to regularize their acceptance of the offer:<br />

Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank.<br />
With the Payment Invoice, the candidate is requested to pay Twenty Five Thousand Naira Only (N25, 000.00) acceptance fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing you’re your Confirmation number and Invoice number.<br />
Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.<br />
Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website.<br />

Please know that am writing this article based on our own point of view. Please comments and contributions are welcomed.<br />

Night class as it is known by students in the River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST)  and Till Day Break (TDB) as known by students on other campuses, is a culture in almost all Nigerian universities, polytechnics and Colleges.<br />
<br />
Students who don't go for night classes are normally called 'dull' students but wait! are they actually dull? of course not! why? this is because you just have to understand your body system.<br />
<br />
The issue of 'sleeping on duty' during night classes is an unavoidable one as we all are a victim of this. We often hear students complain they find it hard reading for atleast two hours every night before dozing off.<br />
<br />
The truth of the issue is that most times it's difficult to stay awake all through the night after stressing our system during the day. Sometimes we still doze off even when we don't work during the day.<br />
<br />
<b>These few tips will help us as student keep us awake:</b><br />
<br />
1. Understand your body System:<br />
This is the most important when considering the option of embarking on this journey. it is better you during the day. Immediately lectures end don't go home, stay behind and read maybe till 8pm or even 9pm. Trust me sleep will never come close until 9:30pm. At 2:30am you can wake and read till maybe 4:30. At about 5:30am you can go back to the class and read till about 7:30am and take a rest before classes start again.<br />
<br />
If you don't understand your system you may end up sleeping in class for ever and before you know it exam is around the corner.<br />
<br />
from my observations, people who read in their hostels tends to do better than those who sleep in the class all in the name of reading.<br />
<br />

2. Determination:<br />
During my first year in the university (two years ago),
 my reading point was the ETF building, if you want me to fall under anointing then just turn the fan on and you will see me. I goto class by 8pm and before 9:30pm oh my God: spit is all over my books and my pen i can't find.<br />
<br />
This continued for almost a month and 
finally i relocated to the SC classes where there we no fan. Weeks later, i became uncomfortable with my little orchestra friends (mosquitoes). I asked myself do you prefer mosquito bite to sleeping? i shook my head no. I asked again do u prefer malaria to sleeping? i answered no. I was confused at that moment. Days passed and it became unbearable as time was fast flying and text swiftly getting closer.<br />
<br />
I was complaining to almost everybody and nobody seemed to give me a solution. I googled the internet for almost 7hours and their answers seemed to worsen the situation. I almost cried until i told myself i am going back to my room (the ETF class) if i want to fail then let me sleep. The first day i was fully armed with my three bags of sachets water waiting sleep to come. Immediately it came i poured water on myself in the presence of other students (they never understood what i was going through). This continued until i was able to scale through.<br />

3. Don't try to cheat nature (Take enough Rest):<br />
Most people read seven days a week (my brothers and sisters you no tear person certificate, pleas take a rest). After being the first to ask questions in the class because you don't understand, you talk after lecture ends and jump when you get to your hostels or even after a long distance walk you want to go ahead to read, my dear na sleep get you.<br />
It's advisable to take enough rest during the day before embarking on this journey.<br />
<br />
4.Use coffee if that's your strength:<br />
I had a night class room mate (we read in the same class) he reads from 10pm till 4am. Seriously while am busy sleeping this dude is busy reading in the alter with his full glass of coffee (inside 5liters rubber).<br />

5. Use Phone to listen to music:<br />
Listening to music helps us to stay awake but for some it's the highest form of distraction. The music should be soft and gentle (blues preferable..  for me i like playing beyonce, rihanna or even chris brown and sometimes celine dion - in his touch...lol). This song should be played using headset so as not to disturb other students reading.<br />

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka yesterday announced it has started the sales of the long awaited screening form. The university through the registrar in the person of  Dr. I.H. Isidienu, FCAI therefore urged the aspirants who chose the institution as first choice during the just concluded exam concluded by JAMB to pick their forms.<br />
<br />
Nnamdi Azikiwe University has scheduled its 2016/2017 Post UTME Screening Exercise for candidates who chose the University as first choice. The candidates are required to apply for the screening exercise. The details are as outlined below:<br />
<br />
1. SCREENING EXERCISE DATES<br />
Applications for screening will start on Wednesday, 14th and end on Friday, 30th September, 2016.<br />
<br />
2. ELIGIBILITY<br />
i.  Candidates who made Nnamdi Azikiwe University their first choice are eligible to apply.<br />
ii. The general cut-off mark is 180 points scored in the UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) of 2016.<br />
<br />
3. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE<br />
i. Candidates are to generate RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) online at the University portal. unizik.edu.ng and proceed to any Bank of their choice for payment.<br />
ii. Candidates are to go back to the portal for payment verification.<br />
iii. If payment verification is successful, candidate will move on to FILL THE APPLICATION FORM and follow the stages as provided.<br />
<br />
4. SCREENING FEE<br />
The screening fee payable is the sum of N2,500.00 (Two Thousand and Five Hundred Naira) only.<br />
<br />
5. CAUTION<br />
i. Candidates must have at least five (5) credits which must include English Language at one or two sittings in the School Certificate (WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB).<br />
ii. Candidates must ensure that they have passed the relevant subjects for the discipline they are applying for.<br />

The issue of school fees increment is now a trending topic on campus and in the mouths of every  students of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology after the Student Union Government of the institution confirmed its factuality.<br />

Students have taken to the facebook page of the President of the Student union Governemnt in the person of Comr. Daminabo to express how disappointed they were for the union not to notify them on time when the issue was raised.<br />

Meanwhile, some have condemned the State government for not considering the economic situation of the country before taking such decision.<br />

The union president had promised to do his best in negotiating with the management and even if their would be an increase, it will be at the minimal. <br />

Yesterday was a tough one on a student as she was almost carried away by a flood in Imo State.<br /><a href="http://www.metronaija.com/2016/09/photos-lady-almost-carried-away-by.html" target="_blank">Metronaija</a> reports that the victim was a student of Imo state University Owerri (IMSU). The incident which occurred along Okigwe Road after a heavy rain fall led to flood due to poor construction of drainage.<br />
<br />
 According to the report, the victim almost got swept away if not for the residents who ran to her rescue.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, residents of the region have condemned the attitudes of the Governments for not taking their warefare seriously.<br />

:SCHOOLFEE PAYMENT: THE POSITION OF THE STUDENTS UNION.<br />
The Students Union Government (SUG) of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt has confirmed a proposed move by the Management to increase School Fees payment for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.<br />
The leadership of the Students Union Government (SUG) however commend the University Management for consulting with Students Union Government via series of meetings with the Vice Chancellor for the said Increment. Thus, enabling a peaceful approach towards this new development.<br />
The SUG however wish to inform the Students Community, that, negotiations for the said Increment is ongoing, and reassure them, that the current SUG is highly competent and committed to protecting and advancing the interest and welfare of the students community, having massively received their consent and unreserved mandate to represent them in that capacity.<br />
As such, the SUG will therefore continua to liaise with the management to ensure, that the increment will be bearable and affordable by the students, since the interest of the students superseded every other interest.<br />
Finally, the SUG under the able leadership of Daminabo Alali Daniel (GCAF) urge the good students of RSUST to remain calm, on the above issue, and maintain their trust in the SUG to always protect their interest pending the conclusion of the matter.<br />

    As reported by Dailypost NG, “Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Friday, 9 September stormed the premises of the Dean, Professor Emeka Okwueze, who was unavailable at the time of the attack, broke into his house and made away with his plasma television and his 24-year old son who was the only one at home.<br /><br />    “The gunmen who were said to have begun their operation at about 8.15pm also inflicted injuries on a lecturer in Physics department, Dr Anthony George, and his wife who were driving in and got caught up in the attack. While Dr George was shot on his right hand, his wife sustained bullet injuries on the left knee.     “In a bid to checkmate future occurrence of the event, the Deputy Chief Security Officer of the Institution, DSP Jarlath Abang, disclosed that several security measures had been put in place by the management of the institution in conjunction with the Cross River State Government.<br /><br />    “The measures covered and implemented in the joint initiative include demolition of all shanties at the waterfront by the Cross River State Government, prohibition of fishing and farming at the water front, displacement of illegal occupants and constant patrol of the quarters both by security operatives on foot and vehicles.<br /><br />    “The Deputy Chief Security Officer attributed the delay in the distress call as a major reason for the kidnappers’ gain.<br /><br />    “The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Zana Akpagu, visited the homes of the staff who were affected by the attack and commiserated with them over the unfortunate event and assured them of anagement’s concern over their welfare and pledged to do all within the purview of his office to ensure the release of those kidnapped and also catch up with the kidnappers.<br /><br />    “He also promised to work with the relevant security agencies to ensure continued safety of lives and properties on campus.”<br /><br /><br />Source: http://brainnewsng.com/gunmen-kidnap-unical-professors-son-shoots-another-lecturer-wife/<br />
