Today at the Rivers State University of Science and technology, the national Union of Rivers State Students conducted a free and fair election after 5 years.

 The election which was conducted at the office of the Chief Security officer (CSO) was free and fair as a ballot system was adopted during the election (open-secret).

The union which have seized to exist in the university for the past five years by the previous administration as a result of violent acts during the union's election.

While speaking with the Eleco chairman in the person of Comr. Giadom Godson, he stated that today's election was a success as no casualty was recorded and thanked the the Vice chancellor of the university for bringing back the Union into the University. he further thanked the dean of students' Affairs in the person of Dr. Isaac Zeb-opibi for his efforts towards reviving NURSS as he was also one time president of the union.
