Students of Kogi State University Anyigba, may be planning to relocate to Lugard House, the State government House, in support of their lecturers who have been on indefinite strike for over 6 weeks.
It would be recalled that on 14th April, 2016, barely a week to the commencement of their first semester examinations, the lecturers declared a 'no pay no work' industrial action, which sent students home.
From the information reaching us, the students of the university are already planning to occupy Lugard House This Thursday in support of their lecturers.
This is following the reports by ASUU KSU Chapter , that "over 40 lecturers of the school have departed, and others are leaving for staff friendly universities in the country".
Our correspondent also followed a truncated post already going round among students on Whatsapp, urging the students to support their lecturers in what they tagged as battle.
It reads: "Great Nigerian students!!! Am using this medium to notify all the students of Kogi State University that our lecturers can't win this battle on their own. We need to support them. Because most of our lecturers are now leaving the school. For us not to jeopardise our education, we need to come back to school for a massive protest. Please and please, let us all come back and support our lecturers to win the cause and for us to continue with our studies. I know we all can do it together with the support of God.Please pass this round if you know you are a student of KSU to notify all the students. From Comrade Makinde S . O."
Anthony Edogbo, the Vice President of the University's Students Union Government, told our correspondent, that they are working underground to yield a fruitful result, but however refused to divulge details of their plans.
One of the SUG senators who confirmed the plot added: "Since the government has refused to bring us back to school, we will carry our books and even projects to Lugard House for the Governor and his cabinet to lecture us."
