ASSU Strike Cripples Academic Activities in RSUST - 5yrs of No Strike, record broken!!!

The Academic Staff Union of Universities yesterday grounded all academic activities in RSUST, as lecturers em-backed on a one week warning strike, boycotting lectures as directed by their Union.

The peculiarity of RSUST in this strike issue is that this is the first ASUU strike RSUST would be participating in, in over 5yrs ( 5 academic sessions). I believe this was one of the many  reasons our school rose to the 12-position in the Nigerian universities ranking and best state University in the Niger Delta (The question is "were we dey now"?: story for another day).

Although the claims and grievances of ASUU are understandable, which majorly is the non-implementation of MOU's as far back as 2009 and 2013 not fair if you ask me,  but for us as RSUST students i guess the pride and shoulder high standards we normally taunt our friends  in other universities with has finally become a thing of the past because this strike has broken the jinx, but i can say we enjoyed it while it lasted.

According to reports from LIB the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki and his four man committee  had a closed door meeting with ASUU we want to plead that they come to common grounds and call this strike off so we can return to our lectures.
