Sequel to the suspension of the former Student Union Government President Comr. Wealth Gospel, which raised dust on campus last week. Students have expressed gratitude to the vice chancellor in his wisdom in handling the issue of the SUG.
During an interview with the Dean of Student Affairs, He expressed how bad it was for a president to gullible the students he was supposed to care for. In his statement he stated that ‘When students do not vote for their representatives, this is what it results to, we will make sure we work hand in hand with the Ag. President of the SUG (Comr. Faith Nnaa) that in the next election every students would be given the opportunity to exercise his or her franchise. It would not be business as usual’.
It could be recalled that for years now SUG election on campus is done by delegates (few representatives from each faculty) and this has led to the abuse and mismanagement of power as these few persons can be influenced by the aspirants leading to misrepresentation.
When he was asked his stand on the recent hike in price of Photocopy Prof. Zeb Isaac Opibi said it was master minded by the former SUG boss.
