SUG holds First congress in 6yrs.

The Student Union Government (SUG) of the Rivers State University OF Science and Technology, Port Harcourt has held its first Congress in over six years. The congress which held today at the Aluta Ground (Hostel D) was put together by the Executive of the Students Union Government led by the acting President/ Vice President of the Union, Comr. Nnaa Faith Barigboto with a large turn out by the students community. Speaking, at the congress, the acting President, Faith Barigboto said the congress was put together to ensure an effective participation of all students in the university. She further maintain, that under her leadership, the congress will be a regular event to ensure effective relationship effective participation of students in the union affairs.

The SUG Boss equally confirmed the definite suspension of the former president, Wealth Gospel over financial imprudence.

Some of the participants who spoke to our correspondent shortly after the congress expressed happiness over the hosting of the congress which they maintained was a welcome development and a sign of good things to come.

In a related development, some Cabinet members of the students Union Government has expressed their optimism over the appointment of Nnaa Faith Barigboto as acting President of the students Union Government. The Secretary General , Comr. Nsirim and  his counterpart ,Comr. Obomanu Precious Director of Social (D.O.S) of the students Union Government in their different speeches maintained that the now acting President has been a pillar of the administration as a rallying point, and a s such, they had no doubt in her ability to deliver in her current position while promising to support her.
