This avoidable political imbroglio in Rivers State is becoming a source of concern to me and every well meaning individuals who humanitarianism forms part of the marrow of his bone. Just recently, some members of APC in Ogoni embarked on a peaceful work, in swift reaction, PDP members two days ago staged a demonstration against the operation of military in Ogoni land.
The said protest which had a political coloration and undertone was however turned to a political rally. Compare this to the hitherto Black day and White day involving both political titans in R/S. Once again, my wistful self developed concept of political TOM&JERRY smoothly played out in this political contest. All said and done, all this actions are geared towards winning the ingenious mind of the helpless masses come, march 19th. I just wish Rivers people, mainly the youths, will be wise enough to identify the foes forms friends and vigorously resist this power hungry elements who has succeeded in destabilizing us by consistently invigorating violence among us. When too elephant wrestle, they say, the grass suffer. Governance will continue to suffer in our dear state until the act of celebrating the monopoly of violence is aptly substituted for the supremacy of amicable resolution through peace which is a sin quinoa for development. God save our state from the hand of few ambitious political chaps who want to trade and sacrifice our collective peace, progress and development on the altar of self aggrandizement to the detriment of the majority. In my candid opinion, the march 19the National Assembly rerun does not require a conquest of muzzles, rather it should be a stock taking where those who have proved their mettle in the past through quality representation should be sent back while the dogmas should be returned in a civil way through our votes. That is if they will allow us vote anyway, since the supreme court in opinion seems to have legalized electoral fraud in the state. This is the actual time when people with footprint should be encouraged to do more through our votes. May God save our dear RIVERS STATE.
